Indonesia Reports Record Daily COVID-19 Cases

JAKARTA – Indonesia reported a record daily number of COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, with 3,963 new infections. The total number of cases in the country now stands at 228,993.

The country also recorded 135 new deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 9,100. This marks the highest number of daily deaths since the outbreak began.

The capital city of Jakarta remains the hardest-hit area in Indonesia, with 62,248 confirmed cases. West Java and East Java are also seeing a surge in cases.

The government has urged the public to follow health protocols, including wearing masks and practicing social distancing, to curb the spread of the virus.
