Police in Kenton County say that a tow truck driver was killed on the side of I-275 after responding to a call to help with a disabled vehicle on Saturday morning.According to police, the call came in at 9:18 a.m. after officers received a report about the worker being struck by a vehicle on the highway’s eastbound lanes near the Taylor Mill Road exit.The accident reportedly occurred after the tow truck driver had been called out to the scene of an unrelated crash that occurred earlier in the morning that left behind a disabled vehicle at the scene. As the worker was assisting the vehicle, police say that his tow truck rolled downhill, striking and killing him.The man has since been identified as 65-year-old Randall “Randy” Kuntsman of Independence, Kentucky.No other vehicles are believed to be involved in the crash, with police adding that the incident is not being investigated as suspicious.Multiple lanes of the interstate were shut down as first responders arrived on scene. I-275 fully reopened a few hours later.The Kenton County Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident. Those with additional information about the accident are urged to contact Det.
