The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a global pandemic. This new virus was first discovered in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and has since spread to numerous countries around the world.

- It’s a new strain of coronavirus that has not been previously identified in humans.
- It causes respiratory illness with symptoms such as cough, fever, and difficulty breathing.
- It spreads primarily through contact with an infected person’s respiratory droplets.
- Preventative measures include washing hands regularly, covering mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and practicing social distancing.
