Breaking News: Mount Agung Erupts
Bali’s Mount Agung volcano has erupted, sending ash and smoke into the sky. The eruption occurred at 4:55pm local time, with ash reaching heights of 2,000 meters. Authorities have issued a level III alert and are advising residents to stay away from the danger zone within a 4-kilometer radius of the volcano.
Mount Agung’s last major eruption was in 1963, which resulted in the deaths of more than 1,000 people. The volcano has been showing increased activity in recent weeks, leading to concerns of a possible eruption.
Flights to and from Bali have been canceled or diverted due to the volcanic ash cloud. Residents are being urged to wear masks to protect themselves from the ash and smoke.
