COVID-19 Update: Cases on the Rise in Jakarta
The number of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta has been steadily increasing over the past week, with health officials reporting a surge in new infections. As of yesterday, there were a total of 1,200 new cases in the city, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 15,000.
Health experts are urging residents to continue practicing social distancing, wearing masks, and washing hands frequently to help slow the spread of the virus. The Jakarta government has also announced new restrictions to curb the rise in cases, including limiting gatherings to no more than 10 people and closing down non-essential businesses.
Despite these measures, hospitals in Jakarta are reportedly reaching full capacity, raising concerns about the city’s ability to handle the growing number of COVID-19 patients. Officials are working to increase testing capacity and secure more medical supplies to meet the rising demand.
With cases expected to continue rising in the coming weeks, residents are reminded to stay vigilant and follow all health protocols to protect themselves and others from the virus.
