ELLSWORTH – – Heart of Ellsworth—which promotes artistic, economic, educations, environmental, cultural and historic activities in the downtown area of the city of Ellsworth—will host the annual “Art of Ellsworth: Maine Craft Weekend†from October 1st to 4th inviting residents and visitors to experience four days of hands-on creativity, live performances and vibrant downtown activity.
According to the release from Chesnee Barney, Marketing and Events Coordinator, Heart of Ellsworth, the event features a dynamic lineup of hands-on craft workshops, and interactive artist demonstrations, in addition to open studios, live music and theater, and gallery and public art exhibitions. The 2026 event will highlight collaborations with artists and community partners, including sculptors from the Schoodic International Sculpture Symposium—part of an ongoing effort to develop the union river sculpture trail. Programming will also feature exhibitions in Heart of Ellsworth's Downtown Makerspace.
Held during the first weekend of October, Art of Ellsworth is free and open to the public. “Art of Ellsworth showcases the very best of our downtown, from talented local artisans to our walkable streets filled with public art, galleries, shops and restaurants,†said Chesnee Barney, Marketing and Events Coordinator of Heart of Ellsworth.
