Peter Rosenberg confronted Jason Lee for calling him a “culture vulture†when the latter made an appearance on the latest episode of The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show.
Rosenberg asserted that Lee accused him of being a culture vulture without any evidence to support his claim.
“You have the right to not like me. You have the right to think I was a d**k to you. Totally fair game,†he said at the 29:50 mark. “And I appreciate a culture vulture because I know the people who really do what that is. Pull from this culture, from hip-hop, Black culture, make their living off of it while not contributing back to it. You made that up about me without any real information. You knew it just sounded good and people would believe it.â€
Ebro chimed in, “It's ‘cause you're white.â€

Rosenberg thought Lee considered him a culture vulture because of his skin color and last name. The Hollywood Unlocked founder called that line of thinking “lazy,†stating that it was simply his opinion.
When Rosenberg pressed Lee to expound on how he reached that assessment, he responded, “I don't have to validate my opinion to you.â€
Rosenberg went on to suggest that Lee should ask his friend ASAP Rocky for his thoughts about him being a culture vulture, given that the radio DJ believes he has helped contribute to his success.
“You know what you should do? You should ask your friend ASAP Rocky what he feels about Peter Rosenberg,†he said. “Ask him if he's a culture vulture, or if he helped make his career, and he will say, ‘Oh, Rosenberg? Rosenberg is the guy who took my songs, cleaned them up for radio play, and gave them to other DJs, so he could play my music.â€
Rosenberg acknowledged that he has benefited from hip-hop culture and expressed how grateful he is for what it has done for his life. “I have always and always will prioritize giving back to that culture, helping uplift other people, people of color specifically,†he added. “That will always be a part of my life.â€
After Rosenberg admitted that being called a culture vulture was “some hurtful shit,†Lee went down a seemingly spiteful route, stating he has no plans on asking Rocky about him when he stops by for his son's birthday party.
“I'll be with Rocky tonight at his son's fourth birthday, and I'm gonna tell him to his face that I don't give a s**t what his opinion is about his support for you, your support for him, what he's done for you, what you've done for him,†he said. “We don't talk about you or anybody else.â€
“I just gave you facts, you're giving me bullshit,†Rosenberg fired back.
Lee brought up issues affecting the Black community, to which Rosenberg reassured him that he has spoken out about those matters. “I speak out about that. Always have,†he said. “Spoke out about LGBTQ rights. Always have.â€
Lee argued that, despite his support, Rosenberg could never fully understand the experience of a Black or gay person, saying, “But you ain't suck d**k and you ain't Black…so you'll never really know.â€
Lee previously spoke about his issues with Rosenberg in a 2022 interview on Drink Champs.
