Gregory-Portland ISD has touted itself as a comfortable place to work, and the district recently received a host of workplace culture awards to add to their mantle.
On May 20, G-PISD announced the district has been recognized with multiple national awards, including the 2026 Top Workplaces Culture Excellence Awards and an Education Industry Top Workplaces award. The district received the honors from Engage, an organization that gives awards based solely on employee feedback through employee surveys.
The district earned recognition in six categories such as Education Industry Top Workplaces, Purpose & Values, Employee Appreciation, Employee Well-Being, Professional Development, and Compensation & Benefits.
“This recognition reflects the incredible people who make G-PISD special,†said G-PISD Board President Tim Flinn. “Our teachers, staff, and leaders work hard every day to create an environment where students and employees can thrive. Being recognized across multiple workplace culture categories speaks to the dedication, care, and commitment that exist throughout our district.â€
It is the second straight year G-PISD has received the Education Industry Top Workplaces distinction, according to a news release from the district.
“We are proud to foster a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and connected to meaningful work,†G-PISD Superintendent Michelle Cavazos said in the release.
