GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – A Green Cove Springs police search that disrupted a quiet neighborhood early Wednesday morning resulted in an arrest, the police department said.
Green Cove Springs PD issued an alert Wednesday morning about a heavy law enforcement presence in a neighborhood off Idlewild Avenue.
Police said the area of Elsie Street and Oakridge Avenue was blocked off and asked people to avoid the area.
A neighbor told News4JAX that he heard a bullhorn go off around 5:30 a.m.
GCSPD later said officers were serving a search warrant at a home in the area after tips about someone in the home downloading child sexual abuse material.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Clay County Sheriff's Office were also on the scene.
Police later announced the arrest of a 21-year-old man, who was taken to the Clay County Jail.
Investigators have not said what, if anything, was found in the home.
