NORFOLK, Va. – (NPD) A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting on Tuesday afternoon that left another man dead.
Police were called to the 2300 block of Azalea Garden Road, next to South Cape Henry Avenue for the report of a gunshot victim around 2:30 p.m. on June 16.
When Officers arrived, they found a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Norfolk Fire-Rescue transported the man, identified as Alfred C. McKenzie, 38, of Norfolk, to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.
Responding officers detained one person of interest a short distance away from where the shooting happened.
Following the investigation, Saequan Wilson, 22, of Norfolk, was charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm.
Wilson is being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
