LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Logan County woman was charged after allegedly breaking into someone’s home and stealing nearly $1,500 of their property, court records said.
Alisha Jo Wiley, 41, of Mallory was taken into custody following the incident on May 27, according to a criminal complaint filed to Logan County Magistrate Court.
Records said troopers spoke to the homeowner, who said they arrived at their residence in Mallory to find several items piled up outside. The victim said later that day, Wiley allegedly returned with surveillance cameras belonging the victim, admitting she cut the wiring to the cameras and entered their residence without permission through a window.
Wiley also allegedly told the victim that the items piled up outside the residence were there so she could come back and get them at a later time, according to the complaint.
Troopers said they spoke to members of the neighborhood and were informed that Wiley’s boyfriend, identified as Carlos Toler, was “prowling around the residence” prior to the incident as well.
The complaint listed the stolen items included, such as security cameras, a lawnmower, string lights, a baby play pen, fishing rods and hanging flower planters, all totaling nearly $1,500 in stolen property.
According to jail records, Wiley was charged with attempt to commit a felony punishable with life, as well as breaking and entering, destruction of property and grand larceny. Toler was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
Wiley is currently being held at Southwestern Regional Jail on a $42,000 bond.
