COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Plan Unveiled by Government
The Indonesian government has revealed its plan for distributing the COVID-19 vaccine across the country. The distribution will prioritize healthcare workers, the elderly, and other high-risk groups.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that the government aims to vaccinate around 181.5 million people, or about 70% of the population, to achieve herd immunity.
The vaccine distribution plan includes partnerships with private companies, local governments, and community health centers to ensure efficient and widespread coverage. The government plans to vaccinate around 1.47 million healthcare workers and 21 million public officials in the first phase of the program.
President Joko Widodo has emphasized the importance of a successful vaccination campaign in controlling the spread of the virus and reviving the economy.
