HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) — The victims of a fatal multivehicle accident involving a military bus and four other vehicles on Canal Road south of I-10 in Harrison County on Tuesday have now been identified.

Harrison County coroner Brian Switzer identified the victims as 45-year-old Thomas Hanes and 48-year-old David Luckett. Both men were from D'Iberville, were drivers of separate vehicles and were not military.

Harrison County Sheriff's Office public information officer Hanna Hendry said along with the two deaths, another person was life-flighted. Multiple people received minor injuries.

Pat Sullivan with Harrison County Fire Rescue said three other vehicles were caught in the wreck following the initial collision between the bus and the pickup truck.

Naval Construction Battalion Center public information officer Jovi Prevot said the bus was one of three traveling in a convoy. Only one was involved in the wreck. He adds that while neither fatality was from the base, 10 people participating in the center's Expeditionary Combat Skills training course were taken to local hospitals to be treated for minor injuries.
