I've never put much stock into strength of schedule ratings since they're rated by how teams performed the year prior. We don't really know how each team is going to look, we only have a rough idea.
What I like to do is point to a few games on the schedule which I see as indicators of how the season will pan out. I believe that if they win all three of these games and lock up the division, then they're a lock to win the conference;
Week 4 vs. Rams
This will inevitably be a game that Philly is favored to lose. They'll call it a “revenge game†but it's really a rule of averages. Can they keep the winning streak going? It's a good sign if they do. LA is a contender, after all.
Week 12 @ Cowboys (Thanksgiving)
A lot of people are dreading this game and it's hard to blame them. Short week, holiday game, @ Dallas (Eagles rarely win there). Dallas is expected to be improved from last year and for good reason. Their defense has been bolstered, and let's be honest, Dak always plays well against the Eagles. If Philly wins this game, the fanbase will exhale a collective sigh of relief.
Week 15 vs Seahawks
Seattle has beaten Philly 8 of their last 10 meetings. They're the reigning Super Bowl Champs. If the Eagles win, that's a very good sign.
