Big TV news casting came up this past week with a follow-up to the recent story about a new British adaptation of Poirot. This week, casting was announced for the iconic Agatha Christie detective Hercule Poirot. The former My Lady Jane leading man Edward Bluemel will play the mustached detective. The series is set to follow the detective during his earlier years.
From the casting announcement, BritBox describes the show as follows:
The series is an intimate study of Hercule the man and an epic portrait of Britain between the wars. The series takes a magnifying glass to three of Christie's most celebrated stories, while also charting Hercule's burgeoning friendship with Captain Arthur Hastings, his early encounters with Scotland Yard's James Japp, and introducing him to one particular nemesis… – via BritBox
A couple weeks after season two's drop, Netflix and BBC announced that they have ordered a third and final season of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. The show will have only four episodes and will bring back Emma Myers' Pip for this shortened season.
In a personal note, I'm glad this one is getting an end date because the series has three books and I love that we will get a complete story but also know the end is near. Sometimes, no matter how good, lingering isn't wise.

The film is based on the novel by Ali Hazelwood and will follow, according to the “first look†Instagram post (see below) from Cosmopolitan, “PhD student Olive Smith, who decides to fake-date biology professor Dr. Adam Carlsen to prove to her BFF that her dating life exists.â€
