OTHER CULTURES. NEWS EIGHT'S MICHAEL FULLER TAKES US TO CHINESE CULTURE CLUB. YEAH, JERRY AND LORI ORIGINALLY STARTED FOUR YEARS AGO TO GIVE STUDENTS WITH ASIAN HERITAGE A PLACE TO RELATE THROUGH SHARED EXPERIENCES, BUT THE HIGH SCHOOL CLUB IS NOW OPEN TO EVERYONE, SO THE CLUB OFFERS ACTIVITIES LIKE TRADITIONAL GAMES, PING PONG, CHINESE SNACKS, ARTS AND CRAFTS, AND SO MUCH MORE. STUDENTS TELL US THE CLUB IS MEANINGFUL BECAUSE TO THEM, ASIAN AMERICANS ARE UNDERREPRESENTED AT THE SCHOOL AND IT GIVES STUDENTS MORE VISIBILITY WHILE ALSO ATTRACTING OTHERS WHO ARE CURIOUS ABOUT CHINESE CULTURE. I LOVE SEEING THEIR REACTIONS TO LIKE, TRYING NEW THINGS. I HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS THAT DON'T REALLY. THEY AREN'T REALLY AWARE OF, LIKE CHINESE SNACKS AND OTHER CULTURE. AND I THINK THAT'S REALLY FUN TO LIKE SEE THEM REACT TO NEW THINGS AND LIKE, YEAH, AND TRY SOME NEW STUFF. THIS CLUB JUST GIVES US SO MUCH MORE REPRESENTATION AND IT DRAWS IN SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE INTERESTED ABOUT CHINESE CULTURE, BECAUSE I'VE HAD SO MANY PEOPLE COME UP TO ME AND SAY, YOU KNOW, CHINESE CULTURE IS SO COOL. I WANT TO LEARN MORE. AND THEIR SOLUTIONS TO JOIN OUR CLUB. AND DALLASTOWN ALSO HAS A SOUTH ASIAN CULTURE CLUB, AND NEWS 8 WILL BE HIGHLIGHTING THE STORIES OF THE. Students at Dallastown High School, south of York City, are embracing cultural diversity through the Chinese Culture Club, which promotes understanding and representation.
