An original NYU Casa Italiana web series tracing Italian history and culture in New York City in lively and unexpected ways has been chosen for broadcast on New York City's official television station during Immigration Heritage Month in June.

NYC Media, the official public TV and radio network of the City of New York, selected the NYU Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò series titled Nuova New York. Hidden in Plain Sight for airing under a just-approved collaboration with the New York City Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment.

“This recognition by NYC Media is an extraordinary achievement for Casa Italiana and for NYU,†said Stefano Albertini, Director of Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò. “We are deeply honored that the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment recognized the cultural and civic value of the series and chose to share it with audiences across New York during Immigrant Heritage Month.â€

Created and produced by Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, Nuova York. Hidden in Plain Sight explores the city through an unexpected lens, revealing stories, places, and cultural connections of significance. Through original storytelling, historical research, and visual exploration, the series reimagines New York as a living archive of Italian migration, creativity, and influence. The series' segments tell the stories of the city's first statue dedicated to an Italian American; a classic Little Italy gift and housewares store; and the Banca Commerciale Italiana of East Harlem, among several others.

The project is part of the leading Italian academic and cultural center's broader mission to promote Italian culture in innovative and accessible ways while fostering dialogue between Italy and the United States through fellowship, public programming, and digital media.

NYC Media reaches millions of viewers through television and digital platforms and is dedicated to highlighting the diversity, history, and cultural vitality of New York City.

Nuova York. Hidden in Plain Sight is one of several recent original productions developed by Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, alongside podcasts, educational initiatives, concerts, and digital projects that continue to expand the institution's public engagement and creative reach.
