The man behind the car

Known worldwide as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six championships in eight seasons. It helped turn basketball into a global phenomenon.

Jordan's former Corvette appears in ESPN's 2020 miniseries The Last Dance, which chronicles the rise of Michael Jordan and the 1990s Chicago Bulls dynasty.

In episode eight, after Jordan's now-famous “I'm back†fax announces his return to basketball, viewers see him emerging from this exact Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1.

A super star car

It was a fitting car for a once-in-a-generation athlete. The 1993 Corvette ZR-1 represented peak performance for its time, and this example carries the 40th Anniversary Package, offered as RPO Z25 on 1993 Corvette models.

The package features Ruby Red paint and matching sport seats. For 1993, updates to the ZR-1's LT5 engine increased output from 375 to 405 horsepower, surpassing General Motors' original 400-horsepower target.

Want to see it for yourself?

The car is on loan to the National Corvette Museum and will be on exhibition through Spring 2027.

Guests can see the vehicle as part of regular Museum admission in our iconic Skydome, and the Jordan ZR-1 is one of nearly a half-dozen Corvette ZR1's on exhibition that span multiple generations of Corvette.
