COVID-19 Update: Cases on the Rise in Jakarta
The number of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta has been steadily increasing in recent weeks, according to health officials. The capital city reported over 500 new cases yesterday, bringing the total number of cases to over 10,000. Experts are concerned about the spike in cases and are urging the public to adhere to health guidelines to prevent further spread of the virus.
Health Minister, Dr. Siti Fadilah Supari, reiterated the importance of wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and washing hands frequently. She also urged individuals to avoid large gatherings and to stay home if feeling unwell. The ministry is working closely with local authorities to ramp up testing and contact tracing efforts in an attempt to curb the spread of the virus.
