World Health Organization declares coronavirus a global health emergency
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the outbreak of the novel coronavirus a global health emergency. This decision was made due to the rapid spread of the virus to countries outside of China and the increasing number of cases worldwide.
The WHO’s declaration of a global health emergency is aimed at mobilizing international cooperation in order to contain the spread of the virus and provide support to countries with weaker health systems.
While the WHO has stated that there is no need for measures that interfere with international travel and trade, it is important for countries to work together to prevent further spread of the virus.
As of now, the novel coronavirus has infected thousands of people in China and has spread to several other countries, including the United States, France, and Australia.
