Seoul, South Korea (CNN) – North Korea has launched two unidentified projectiles, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said Thursday. A US official told CNN that North Korea launched a short-range ballistic missile.
The launch comes after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sent a letter to President Donald Trump, which he described as “excellent.”
This is the first launch by North Korea in about 2.5 months.
It is unclear what type of projectiles was fired, the South Korean military said.
This is a developing story. More updates to follow.
