COVID-19: CDC Recommends Wearing Masks Indoors Again
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its guidelines to recommend that both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals wear masks indoors in areas with substantial or high transmission rates of COVID-19. This change comes as the Delta variant continues to spread across the United States.
The CDC also advises that fully vaccinated people in areas with low or moderate transmission rates can still choose to wear masks if they are at risk or have someone in their household who is immunocompromised, unvaccinated, or at increased risk for severe illness.
Health officials are also urging Americans to get vaccinated to protect themselves and others from the virus. As of now, only about 49% of the total U.S. population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
