There are many ways to remember and honor the lives of military service members across the Triangle on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026.
Apex: Apex American Legion Post 124 will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony on May 25 at 9:30 a.m. at Apex Fire Station 1, 210 N. Salem St.
Cary: The town’s Memorial Day Remembrance will be held at 2:30 p.m. on May 25 at Veterans Freedom Park at 1517 N. Harrison Ave. in Cary.
Chapel Hill: American Legion Post #6 will hold a Memorial Day Commemoration in Chapel Hill on May 25 at 3700 N.C. Highway 54 at 1 p.m. Doors open at noon. Additionally, the Orange County Veterans Memorial Day Service will be held on May 25 from 8:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Site, 2501 Homestead Drive.
Durham: The Durham County Veteran Services Department’s Memorial Day Remembrance Event will be held May 25 at 9 a.m. in the William V. Bell Building located at 201 E. Main St.
Fayetteville:Â A new monument will be unveiled in honor of often forgotten service men and women at this Memorial Day Ceremony at Freedom Memorial Park, located at the corner of Hay Street and Bragg Boulevard. The event begins at 10 a.m.
Garner: The Town of Garner's Memorial Day Observance will take place May 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the Garner Veterans Memorial in Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road.
Hope Mills: Hope Mills VFW 10630 will present the annual Memorial Day Ceremony on May 25 at the Hope Mills Veterans Memorial, located at 5770 Rickfish Road, at 11 a.m.
Knightdale: The town’s Memorial Day Ceremony will be held May 25 at 11 a.m. at the Knightdale Veterans Memorial at 810 N. First Ave. The event will include a keynote presentation and the unveiling of newly engraved names on the Veterans Memorial.
Raleigh: Historic Oakwood Cemetery will hold a Memorial Day Remembrance Service on May 25 at 4 p.m. at 701 Oakwood Avenue. Montlawn Memorial Park, located at 2911 S. Wilmington St., will hold a Memorial Day Remembrance Service on May 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Smithfield: The Johnston County Veterans Council will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. on May 25 at the Johnston County Courthouse, 207 S. Second St.
