TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida State Parks is hosting its 74th annual Florida Folk Festival throughout the weekend in White Springs.
The event celebrates traditions, stories and heritage of Florida and America. People from across Florida came to White Springs for the cultural tradition. Festival goers saw performances from different musical acts, as well as taking part in workshops that gave them hands-on experience.
The festival also offers history interpreters portraying notable figures from Florida's past. People at the event said the festival helps bring the community together.
Lev Shepsuma'at attended the festival with family for the first time on Saturday.
“This is my first time coming to the Florida Folk Festival. It's an amazing time, lots of great, craft, skills, expertise, so many things to learn, and enjoy, and experience. My kids are roaming free in a safe environment, out here in nature, it's beautiful,†Shepsuma'at said.
The annual event is held from May 22 to May 24.
