The 3rd Annual Bay Area Black Fashion Expo is one of the highlights of Bay Street Emeryville's annual Juneteenth Celebration, featuring more than ten local black fashion designers. Mika McCants, owner and CEO of Spoiled Boutique, is the creative force behind this Juneteenth celebration that celebrates culture, creativity and community. In addition to the fashion show, guests were treated to beauty showcases, live music, dance performances and nearly 100 Black-owned businesses and vendors.
While Juneteenth became a federal holiday just five years ago, Bay Area communities have been celebrating the watershed event for over 80 years.
On Saturday and beyond, more celebrations are planned across the Bay Area.
