In the wake of the U.S. Apache helicopter crash, the U.S. and Iran resumed armed conflict by exchanging missile and drone attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to CNN on the 10th (local time), Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on its Telegram channel that it fired missiles and drones at historical U.S. targets.

Iran immediately responded to the U.S. military’s retaliatory airstrikes against Iran in response to the crash of an Apache helicopter belonging to its army.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi hinted at retaliation again on X (X, formerly Twitter), saying, “We will definitely punish any attack.”

“The United States has decided to test our resolve despite losing the battlefield,” he said. “If you want safety, leave our area. There are numerous records in the history of the Persian Gulf about the miserable fate of the invading foreign powers,” he added.

Earlier, the U.S. military launched a self-defense military strike in the Strait of Hormuz on the same day, saying that the Apache helicopter that crashed on the 8th was shot down by Iranian forces.

According to CNN, Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency reported explosions were heard in the southern Iranian coastal city of Sirik and Bandar Abbas and Gessium near the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Mehr news agency, citing Minav regional officials, there were no signs of attack in the inland area, and the sound of the explosion was centered on the coastal area bordering the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. President Donald Trump was reportedly talking to an ABC reporter on the phone at the time the U.S. Central Command launched the airstrike. At the time, President Trump told a reporter, “I believe the response should be very strong and powerful. This is exactly what it is,” he was quoted as saying.

The Apache helicopter belonging to the U.S. Army was reportedly shot down the night before after being attacked by an Iranian drone while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump said all two pilots on board at the time were rescued safely.

President Trump later formalized his retaliatory policy on social networking services (SNS) Truth Social, saying, “The United States must inevitably respond to this attack.”
