For The Culture is a new collaborative summer event series designed to celebrate culture, foster connections, and create a more welcoming and inclusive Downtown Champaign. Featuring a diverse lineup of events hosted by local businesses and community partners, the initiative aims to create spaces where BIPOC communities feel represented, celebrated, and connected.
The series is the result of months of collaboration among more than a dozen Downtown Champaign businesses, community leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and local organizations. Together, participants explored ways to strengthen relationships, create new opportunities for engagement, and ensure Downtown reflects the diversity and vibrancy of the many communities that call Champaign home. Through this shared effort, participating businesses have committed to building meaningful connections, creating new experiences, and helping tell a broader story about who Downtown Champaign is and who it can become.
The For The Culture lineup will feature:

More than an event series, For The Culture aims to strengthen connections, broaden perspectives, and highlight the many voices and experiences that contribute to Downtown Champaign's vibrancy.
