The actress questions celebrity credentials in politics and backs Karen Bass in Los Angeles mayoral race

*Vivica A. Fox is speaking out about American politics, and she is not softening her position.
During a recent appearance in New York City, she told TMZ that political leadership struggles stem from what she sees as unqualified candidates entering the field.
Fox pointed to Donald Trump and Spencer Pratt as examples of reality television figures who have pursued political influence. She argued that public recognition does not prepare someone for governing responsibilities. She also stressed that leadership requires experience, especially during periods of economic strain.
“Well, we see where reality stars get us, right?†Fox said, per BOSSIP. “That's why the economy is in trouble right now, so y'all be careful with trusting these reality stars in political arenas. Good politicians, there's a reason why they're good politicians, because they make a career out of being a good politician. They just don't jump in it and say, ‘Let me do it!'â€Â

She challenged the idea that celebrity status should translate into political credibility. Fox said voters should focus on records of governance rather than fame built in entertainment.
Fox also addressed the Los Angeles mayoral race, where Pratt is currently running. She expressed support for incumbent Karen Bass and said she expects her to win the election. “Yeah, Karen Bass is gonna win,†she said.
Pratt, meanwhile, said he remains focused on his campaign and tied his message to public safety concerns in Los Angeles. He also said he would consider leaving the city if he does not win.
“The only support I need is from moms who want to feel safe in Los Angeles,†Pratt told TMZ. “I am laser focused on that.â€
Fox's comments add to ongoing public debate over the role of celebrity in political life, particularly as entertainment figures continue to enter electoral races.
