It appears that Lara Trump’s appeal to California has spectacularly misfired.
The 43-year-old, who is married to President Donald Trump’s son Eric, was presenting her Fox News program My View when she devoted a segment to her reactions to videos that had generated considerable controversy.
“Let’s see what we got today, see how crazy these people are. Here we go,” Lara opened, as footage of California gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer appeared, depicting him speaking with a young girl. In the clip, a girl observes, “You’re set on just basically a set choice on where you stand with trans athletes,” as Tom responds, “I am.” It comes after Lara’s brother-in-law got married.
The girl adds, “It was nice to just have a straight decision on who you support.” Tom wrapped up the exchange, declaring, “And I’m so proud of you for what you’re doing. So proud of you for succeeding. So proud of you for competing.”
As the footage concluded, Lara criticized, “Okay, well, California, pay attention. Guess who that is. That gentleman wants to be your next governor. Unfortunately, for all the women and the girls in the state of California, this is the kind of c–p you guys have to deal with.”
“You have people out there who would rather pander and rather tell boys who are presenting themselves as girls that they’re supporting the boys versus actual legitimate girls.”
“This stuff is really crazy, and it’s really scary too, because not only is it not fair? We’ve established that a billion times, right? Everybody understands that boys and girls are built differently, but it’s also dangerous,” she continued.
Lara added, “And whenever you see a girl get a volleyball spiked in her face by a much stronger boy, whenever you have a competition where there is a physical nature to all of it, and the girls are in jeopardy of getting hurt. That’s a big problem.
“So, as you guys are going to vote for your next governor, for who will lead your state and set the tone for things in your state, take a second and consider if this is anybody who you would actually want in charge of anything, let alone your entire state.
“And, my God, California is such a beautiful state. I say this all the time. I absolutely love going and spending time in certain parts of California. It honestly may be the most beautiful state in our country.”
“It is just run so poorly, and you guys can change that, we can change it out there. So, let’s, let’s do better. And this is crazy. I don’t even know what else to say. It’s ridiculous,” Lara wrapped up her commentary.
Following the broadcast, viewers flocked to social media to share their reactions, and it appears few agreed with Lara’s statements. One X user raged, “This grifting family of Trump will cease. Enjoy your time in hell.” Another highlighted more urgent concerns, commenting, “Fook off sister! We cant afford gas!” with a third user echoing, “Meanwhile, you’re father-in-law is killing the world economy.”
“You’re an idiot,” someone else slammed, while a fifth added, “You’re despicable.” Elsewhere a sixth person questioned, “Did you get your implants from the same guy that inflated your lips?”
