Ray J is so serious about his upcoming MMA bout with Supa Hot Fire that he’s apparently ready to die in the ring.
In a livestreamed press conference for the fight in which the audience asked both Ray J and Supa Hot Fire questions ahead of their Saturday (May 23) bout, the singer got emotional when a man asked him if he’s still dying soon — this in reference to claims Ray J made earlier this year that he almost died.
“You want to see me die, bro?” Ray J asked, prompting the audience member to deny it. Ray J then continued: “That's why I'm putting it all in the ring. If this n***a can really do it, he'll kill me in the ring. I'm dying for mine, n***a.”
Moments later, after thanking Adin Ross for the opportunity to fight at his Brand Risk 14 event in Vegas, Ray J got emotional about the reason he was getting into the ring. “I'm not just fighting for me, I'm fighting for my kids,” he said as his voice trailed off.
Elsewhere in the conference, Ray J and Supa Hot Fire nearly came to blows multiple times as the jokes and back-and-forth got pretty tense. A lot of it stemmed from Supa Hot Fire wearing a shirt featuring Kim Kardashian, as well as him bringing up Ray J's music career.
At one point, Ray J got out of his seat and stormed over to Supa Hot Fire's chair but was stopped before he could do any damage.
The fact that Ray J is even preparing to fight is dangerous for his health, especially since doctors have claimed they're not sure how much longer he'll live because of his heart issues. Ray J was reportedly notified that he may need a pacemaker or defibrillator and that he can't smoke or drink.
In preparation for his upcoming fight, Ray J said he has trained alongside Rampage Jackson and consulted with Chuck Liddell — seemingly suggesting that his heart issues are over.
