Several students suffered minor injuries when their school bus was involved in a crash in Everett on Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred in the area of Broadway at Langdon Street, not far from Encore Boston Harbor. Sky5 flew over the area around 2:50 p.m. and saw the bus in the crosswalk at Langdon Street. The black BMW with front-end damage was in the lanes of Broadway. Surveillance video from a nearby business showed the crazy crash that sent glass and debris into the roadway.Multiple fire department vehicles and ambulances were blocking the other lanes. Eleven students from the Devens School were on board at the time, along with a driver and bus monitor.Nine students were taken to the hospital, according to the district superintendent. Their injuries were described as minor. Officials on the scene said the bus was southbound on Broadway and was turning left when it was struck by the oncoming car. “The vehicle that struck this bus was coming on the inside lane, apparently exceeding a speed limit, can’t be sure of that, just what I quickly saw,” said Everett Superintendent of Schools William Hart, who responded to the scene. “These young people need to see familiar faces especially in a time like this… these are our kids, we have to take care of them, so we’re all here.”A grandparent picking up a student who was on the bus said he is doing OK.The cause of the crash remains under investigation and it’s unclear if any charges will be filed.
