WHO announces new guidelines for COVID-19 prevention

The World Health Organization (WHO) has released updated guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19. The new guidelines focus on the importance of wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and practicing good hand hygiene.

According to WHO, wearing masks in indoor settings where social distancing is not possible can help reduce the spread of the virus. Masks should cover the nose, mouth, and chin and be made of at least three layers.

Social distancing remains a key measure in preventing COVID-19 transmission. People are advised to maintain a distance of at least one meter from others and avoid crowded places.

In addition to wearing masks and practicing social distancing, WHO emphasizes the importance of regular handwashing with soap and water or using hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content.

These guidelines apply to everyone, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or not. WHO continues to recommend vaccination as a crucial step in controlling the pandemic.
