RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Eight individuals will be inducted into the Rapid City Sports Hall of Fame during a banquet May 4 at The Monument.
The event, hosted by the Rapid City Sports Commission, honors athletes, coaches and contributors for their impact on local and regional sports.
This year's inductees include Craig Nowotny, Dick Novak, Cooper Bowman, Kelvin Torve, Simeon Birnbaum, Haleigh Timmer, Abbie Cina and Owen Johnson.
In addition to the inductions, several other awards will be presented, including honors for top high school and college athletes, a Special Olympian of the Year and a Sports Association Member of the Year.
The event is open to the public, with tickets available in advance. Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner and the program starting at 5:45 p.m.
