FDA Recalls Several Brands of Dog Food Due to Salmonella Contamination
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall for several brands of dog food that may be contaminated with salmonella. The affected products were manufactured by Sunshine Mills, Inc. and include various brands such as Champ, Field Trial, and Good Dog.
Salmonella can be harmful to both pets and humans who handle the contaminated food. Symptoms of salmonella infection in pets include vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and lethargy. In humans, symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever.
Consumers who have purchased any of the recalled products are advised to stop feeding them to their pets and return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
