World Health Organization Declares Coronavirus a Global Pandemic
The World Health Organization has officially declared the coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic. This announcement comes after the virus has spread to over 100 countries and infected more than 100,000 people worldwide.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated, “We have rung the alarm bell loud and clear.” He urged countries to take aggressive action to contain the outbreak and protect their citizens.
Governments around the world are implementing various measures to slow the spread of the virus, including travel restrictions, quarantines, and social distancing protocols.
Experts warn that the situation will likely worsen before it gets better, and emphasize the importance of following guidelines from health officials to prevent further transmission of the virus.
